We at The Steamer couldn’t agree more with Joe Calzaghe that boxing should be brought back into the school curriculum. Boxing, and other contact sports like judo, help young boys understand who they are, their limitations and the consequences of their behaviour. The well meaning but occasionally foolish Welsh Assembly Government have just spent 20 million quid on giving 5 year olds and understanding of ‘sustainability’ as part of something called the foundation phase. Wouldn’t this money be better spent supporting Wales’ excellent athletic and sporting clubs integrate better with schools?
Who knows this might actually benefit some of the people the Labour Party is meant to be serving?
